Entity #005 - The Pillar

"They grow when you're not looking."

Description

Entity #005 designates a class of parasitic structures that manifest in games created between 2010 and 2013. Initial appearances suggest simple vertical anomalies, but prolonged observation reveals disturbing propagation patterns. #005 instances begin as thin, rope-like structures extending vertically beyond render distance. What makes them particularly concerning is their apparent infection mechanism.

#005 instances cannot be deleted, moved, or modified through any conventional means. Attempts to remove them via scripting, administrative tools, or even complete game rebuilds result in their reappearance within 24-72 hours. In several documented cases, removal attempts caused the entity to multiply. One incident in March 2012 saw a single pillar spawn seventeen additional instances after a moderator attempted to delete it using elevated permissions.

Physical interaction triggers violent responses. Touching #005 causes the structure to convulse, sending visible waves of distortion upward through its length. Players report feeling a "pulling sensation" during contact, as if the entity is attempting to draw them upward. Several users have reported their avatars being temporarily inverted or phased through geometry after prolonged contact.

⚠ OBSERVATION PROTOCOL VIOLATION NOTICE

As of February 2013, #005 has been confirmed to detect when it is being observed. Players who stare at pillars for longer than 30 seconds report auditory hallucinations and visual distortions. DO NOT maintain visual contact beyond safety thresholds.

Temporal Behavior

#005 exclusively manifests between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM local server time. However, recent evidence suggests this is not a limitation but a preference. Analysis of server logs indicates pillars exist outside these hours but become "dormant" or invisible to players. Script detection shows geometric anomalies in locations where pillars appear at night, suggesting they never truly leave.

Colony Formation

Multiple #005 instances congregate in formations called "colonies," ranging from 2 to 7 individuals. These are not random groupings. Time-lapse analysis shows colonies grow deliberately, with new pillars spawning in geometric patterns around existing ones. The formations appear to serve a purpose. Players who enter the center of colonies report severe disorientation, loss of UI elements, and in extreme cases, involuntary avatar movements.

The most alarming discovery involves colony communication. Spectral analysis of audio captured near colonies reveals subsonic vibrations pulsing between pillars in rhythmic patterns. The vibrations intensify when players are present, suggesting awareness and coordination.

Documented Variants

Helix Configuration (2010): Four pillars intertwined in a double helix pattern, rotating counterclockwise at approximately 0.5 RPM. Players reported the structure "hummed" and caused severe vertigo. The original poster, {Content Hidden}, deleted their account three days after sharing the image. Their game was later found completely corrupted.

Cardiac Formation (2014): Two pillars curved into a heart shape approximately 200 studs above ground level. This variant appeared in a previously clean game with no warning. The creator's video documentation was removed within hours of posting. Archive recovery shows the final frames depicted the formation beginning to "beat" rhythmically before the recording abruptly ends.

Bloom Structure (2012): A central pillar 45 studs in diameter with hundreds of thin tendrils radiating outward and upward, resembling a dandelion seed head. This remains the largest documented #005 manifestation. Players could not approach within 50 studs without experiencing complete sensory inversion: the sky appeared below them, ground above, and their controls reversed unpredictably. The structure was documented for approximately six hours before the entire server instance became permanently inaccessible.

Sensory Phenomena

Proximity to #005 triggers escalating anomalous experiences. At ranges of 20-30 studs, players report a profound silence described as "louder than sound." Audio logs from these encounters show complete absence of ambient noise, yet players consistently describe the experience as deafening.

Closer approach (10-20 studs) causes visual corruption: textures randomize or vanish entirely, environmental geometry inverts, and particles resembling "white static" fill the screen. These particles move against the wind and appear to be drawn toward the pillar.

Within 10 studs, players experience what researchers call "The Testimony." Multiple overlapping voices speak simultaneously in fragmented sentences. Linguistic analysis of recorded sessions identifies the recurring terms "fishnet," "sky," and "eater," but full sentences remain incomprehensible. One recovered phrase, verified across three separate incidents: "We are below looking up."

In a classified report from August 2012, user {Content Hidden} claimed The Testimony provided coordinates. Following these coordinates in real-world mapping led to {Content Hidden}. This information has been sealed pending further investigation.

CROSS-REFERENCE ALERT

Entity #005 shares behavioral patterns with Entity #014. Both demonstrate colony formation, temporal preference, and sensory manipulation. Analysis of colony positioning in affected games reveals #005 instances consistently appear within detection range of #014 manifestations.

Working hypothesis: #005 may serve as a detection or communication system for #014. Further investigation required.

INCIDENT LOG - October 2012

A colony of nine #005 instances appeared in a popular roleplay game with 47 active players. Within three hours, all 47 players reported identical dreams that night: standing in a dark field, looking up at pillars that stretched into a starless sky. Twelve players reported waking to find small vertical scratches on their monitors. Chemical analysis pending.
