Entity #029 - The Feebleness Virus

Description

Entity-029 was a digital virus responsible for the creation of 2 anomalies that posed an immense threat to the stability of the Roblox site before they were patched through the complete removal of ads. It is unknown who created the virus or how it got onsite, but it is theorized that an anomalous individual or a party of programmers unintentionally created it and spread it through a free model, creating the first Entity-029-B instance, though this has yet to be proven.

Entity-029-A, known as "Feebleness ads," was an anomalous series of images manifesting in both ads and, for a short period of time, forum posts. The anomalies were available on the Roblox site prior to the December 4, 2017, forum discontinuation and the Roblox June 17, 2024, user advertisement removal update.

During their time, Feebleness ads posed a massive threat to Roblox developers and Roblox itself due to their supernatural and digitally contagious nature. They compromised dozens of accounts by transforming them into Entity-029-B. Instances would be put in games, forums, and other places onsite to allow Entity-029-A instances to reach and transform regular advertisements into more Entity-029-As.

Feebleness ads always appeared as poorly drawn sketches, often depicting cats, dogs or other animals in the first frame whilst the second frame would have strange messages related to the word "Feeble".

When interacted with by the user, the ads would self-animate and begin to distort and saturate the viewer’s screen whilst speaking the text within their image. After this process finished, the cursor would automatically move to the refresh button, beginning the transformation of the user's account into an Entity-029-B instance.

Another Entity-029-A instance would be created when an Entity-029-B account clicked on an advertisement after interacting with a previous Entity-029-A advertisement. After Entity-029-B interaction with a normal ad, the ad would instead become an instance of Entity-029-A, repeating the cycle.

Entity-029-B, known as "The Compromised," is currently what is left of Entity-029. Originally the accounts served as beacons for Entity-029 and Entity-029-A instances to further spread. However, they have since become dormant and non-anomalous.

While Feebleness Ads were still on Roblox, they served as the hijacked accounts of users who interacted with or were targeted by Entity-029. Victims were transformed into self-operating accounts that couldn’t be accessed by their original owners after hijacking.

They likely interacted with regular ads to signal Entity-029 where to place future instances of Entity-029-A advertisements.

While Roblox forums were active, Entity-029-B would spread Entity-029-A through forum posts. These forms were short-lived, as the Roblox platform removed forums only a year after the creation of the first instances.

Despite the dormancy of all Entity-029-related anomalies, Entity-029-B accounts remain lost. Users who attempt to log in are met with errors and glitches instead of access.
