Entity #048 - WIIBLOX.ISO

"ROBLOX wasn't yet built for a smoothly animated character."

Description

Entity #048, once referred to on the start-up screen as ROBLOX, or simply WIIBLOX.ISO in the files, was an illegally bootlegged game, published within 2007. It was said to cost 4.99 US dollars on an old website known for selling bootlegs, however current evidence does not prove nor disprove the existence of the particular rumor in place.

In order to download the ISO onto your Wii, you first had to modify your Wii with a sketchy program included in the files that you bought, then transfer the ISO over to your Wii. It would replace some of the games with a Placeholder thumbnail, indicating that WIIBLOX was downloaded.

Menu System

After opening the game, you would be greeted with four menu buttons:

  • "PLAY OFFLINE."
  • "BUILD OFFLINE."
  • "PLAY ONLINE."
  • "BUILD ONLINE."

Said buttons are separated into two states, offline and online. If you decided to play offline, it would choose a random map within the files, allowing you to essentially play Singleplayer in it.

Online Functionality

If you played online, it would connect to real ROBLOX servers, choosing a random game. Your character, which is a simple noob avatar, will move almost like a cartoon character. Being transferred over to the main ROBLOX servers, but in rare instances, said character model would glitch out within the server, as ROBLOX wasn't yet built for a smoothly animated character. It would cause your character to freak out in unknown ways, often making it look cryptic.

Incident Report

An incident occurred within the main servers of ROBLOX, where a user within the Tutorial state managed to get in a public server, essentially making it so that they were able to edit the game to their will. Reports were made about an unknown hacker within the server, and hours later, the ROBLOX staff team was able to reset the server, banning the user alongside with it.

After this, WIIBLOX began to quickly break down, as fixes were being made to ROBLOX's code after the incident and multiple reports regarding "strangely animated robloxians." This caused the game's code to clash with the already fixed scripts inside of ROBLOX's main servers, making the game incompatible with online mode.

A recorded instance of WIIBLOX proved to be more anomalous in nature than most. Soon after the user finished the Tutorial section, their character got teleported to a white level, with an unmoving being at the end. When they tried to reach it, the game crashed, putting the Wii menu in an unloaded state, and essentially bricking their console.
